This is the first time the Isle of Lewis Chess set (replica) has been manufactured in wood and that too magnetic packed in folding travel chess box having chess board on the top of the box.

Pleasant Times industries is again the first company who has made the replica of Isle of Lewis Chess set in wood.

This master piece of art on wood is genuine replica of the world's most well-known Isle of Lewis chess pieces on display in the British Museum. The pieces were discovered on the Isle of Lewis (Scandinavian origin) around 1170.

The reproduction of Lewis chess pieces on wood has been done by latest laser technology and all the Lewis chess pieces have been carved by laser and this is the closest replica of ancient Lewis chess pieces available today.

The Isle of Lewis Chess set has been made in the wood combinations of American Cherry / Boxwood . The dark side of Lewis chess set has been laser engraved on American Cherry wood and mounted on the bases of Golden Rosewood and light side Lewis chess pieces on boxwood and mounted on the bases of boxwood.

High powered magnets have been inserted inside the bases of the Lewis chess set and velvet felt has been applied on bases of all the chess pieces.

The Lewis Chess pieces are fitted with super strong magnets and the magnetic power passes through the wooden chess board . History of Chessmen : Isle of Lewis Chessmen pieces are very unusual, rare ones found on the Isle of Lewis in Scotland in early 1800's but believed to be carved in Walrus Tusk circa 1280 in Norway or Iceland. These Romanesque (relating to style prevailing in Europe c. 900-1220) visage being the only of its kind in the history of medieval Art. There seem to be no other chess pieces compared with these forceful and expressive faces of humans. Most of the experts in chess history believe that these figures of Isle of Lewis Chessmen as most astonishing ancient chessmen collection in existence.
